Many e-readers don't support native apps, and their built-in browsers aren't powerful enough to support the latest and greatest chat interfaces like ChatGPT or Claude.

We've custom-built a lightweight chat interface site that's tailored to the unique strengths of e-readers, with a familiar page-based UI, adjustable font sizes, on-device chat history, a way of letting the model know what you're reading and how to respond, and more.

What models do you support?
We currently support GPT4o, Claude Sonnet 3.5 and 3.7. Let us know if you have a model you'd like us to support!
What e-readers do you support?
We aim to support any e-reader with a web browser. You can test compatability by visiting companion.ink on your device. Let us know if you have any issues!
How is usage calculated?
We credit you with $4 of chat API provider credits at the start of each month. This amount resets each month. Please refer to the API provider pricing pages for details on how usage is calculated (OpenAI pricing or Anthropic pricing).
Do you store my chats?
No, we don't store your chats. We only store the number of tokens used. All chats are stored on your device.
